Dune: Prophecy has been renewed for a second season.
The HBO Original drama series, co-produced with Legendary Television, takes place 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. It follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.
has been renewed for a second season, ahead of the season one finale debuting SUNDAY, DECEMBER 22at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Across Max territories, the first episode has amassed approximately 15 million viewers.
An expansion of the universe of Dune, created by author Frank Herbert, it’s inspired by the novel Sisterhood of Dune written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson. The cast includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea and Jade Anouka.
The show premiered in the UK in November and has quickly been greenlit for another chapter.

Dune: Prophecy finally has a UK air date set for November, and a new trailer gives us a closer look at the series.
Starring Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel and Mark Strong, the series is set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides. It follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit.
Inspired by the novel Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson, the six-part drama will premiere on Monday 18th November on Sky Atlantic and NOW. Episodes will arrive weekly, within 24 hours of their US debut.

True power comes with control. That’s the starting point for Dune: Prophecy, which will debut in the UK on Sky and NOW later this year.

It follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. Inspired by the novel Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson, the series stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Camilla Beeput, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning and Yerin Ha.
Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive producer. Diane Ademu-John co-developed the series and serves as executive producer. Anna Foerster executive produced and directed multiple episodes including the first.

Trailer: Dune: Prophecy heads to TV screens

The Dune-iverse is expanding with a new prequel series on the way to HBO Max.
Dune: Prophecy was unveiled this week with the first teaser for the six-part show, which is set 10,000 years before the birth of Paul Atreides.
The drama will chart the origins of the Bene Gesserit, the sinister sisterhood who prophesy the events of Dune. It is based on the novel Sisterhood Of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson. Given extraordinary abilities by their mastery of the body and the mind, the Bene Gesserit expertly weave through the feudal politics and intrigue of The Imperium, pursuing plans of their own that will ultimately lead them to the enigmatic planet Arrakis, known to its inhabitants as Dune.
The series was formally unveiled during Warner Bros Discovery’s upfront presentation this week, several years after HBO Max first ordered the Dune prequel. It stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina and more. Alison Schapker serves as showrunner and executive producer.
The project marks Legendary’s continued success in the streaming age, having built a formidable universe around its Godzilla and King Kong franchise, including multiple Netflix animated series and a live-action Apple TV+ series.
