Netflix’s first Spanish-language original series, created by Gaz Alazraki and Mike Lam, is a comedy set in the world of futbol. If follows a brother and sister battling high expectations and each other, after inheriting a soccer team when the patriarch of the Iglesias family dies unexpectedly. The show stars Luis Gerardo Méndez as Chava Iglesias and Mariana Trevino, as Isabel Iglesias Reina and features Stephanie Cayo, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, Ianis Guerrero and Antonio de la Vega.
Season 1 followed all the action off the field and in the locker rooms, as egos, tempers, insults and soccer balls fly between the party boy brother, the work obsessed sister, a (possibly) pregnant girlfriend, the beleaguered team captain and everyone else in between all enter the pitch, all vying to score a personal goal. Season 2 saw a new President of the Cuervos of Nuevo Toledo soccer team walk in and cause havoc. Season 3 saw the Iglesias siblings together like never before, and screwed like always, after disappointing the fans, the team and all of Nuevo Toledo.
Now, they’re back for a fourth and final season, as Chava and Isabel must come to terms with their futures and the future of the club. They have more enemies than ever and their reputation is at risk, leaving them to face one last battle to save the team and their family.
Season 4 premieres on Netflix on Friday 25th January. Here’s the trailer:
