Sheridan Smith is returning to BBC One this January for new drama Four Lives, and a trailer gives us a first look at the three-part drama.
Written by Neil McKay exec-produced by Jeff Pope (the team behind The Moorside and Appropriate Adult), Four Lives will go beneath the headlines to shed new light on the four young men – Anthony Walgate, Gabriel Kovari, Daniel Whitworth and Jack Taylor – who were murdered by Stephen Port. Based on extensive research and multiple sources, Four Lives focuses on the fight to uncover the truth about what had happened to their lost sons, brothers and loved ones in the face of a now widely condemned police investigation, telling it from the point of view of the men’s families and friends.
The cast includes Stephen Merchant, Sheridan Smith, Jaime Winstone, Samuel Barnett, Rufus Jones, Robert Emms, Daniel Ryan, Stephanie Hyam and Leanne Best. It is directed by David Blair and produced by Serena Cullen, with Neil McKay and Lucy Richer exec-producing for the BBC alongside Pope.
It will premiere at 9pm on 3rd January on BBC One, with the following two episodes airing on the Tuesday and Wednesday. All three episodes will arrive on BBC iPlayer alongside the first episode.
