Amazon has ordered a four-part documentary about Oscar Pistorius, which will be released worldwide this week.
The Amazon Prime Video exclusive explores the story of the South African Paralympic and Olympic sprinter, who shot and killed his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, in the early hours of Valentine’s Day 2013. Directed by Vaughan Sivel and made over three years with exclusive access to key players in a live trial, the film chars the tragedy of Steenkamp’s death alongside, and in the context of, South Africa’s society. The story of a man and a nation both born to great disadvantage, it follows the challenges, hopes and triumphs of both Oscar and Reeva, and the demise of their dreams under the glare of the world media.
Pistorius will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday 6th September. Here’s the trailer – or head this way for more on what’s coming soon to Amazon Prime Video UK this month.
