Alexander Skarsgård is heading to Apple TV+ next month for Murderbot, and a new trailer gives us a first look at the sci-fi series.

The 10-episode comedic thriller, which is exec-produced by and stars Skarsgård, is based on Martha Wells’ bestselling book series The Murderbot Diaries. It follows a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients. Played by Skarsgård, Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.

The ensemble cast includes Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones and Tamara Podemski. The first two episodes premiere on Friday 16th May, followed by weekly episodes until the finale on 11th July.
