1st April 2019
Tiffany Haddish and Netflix are teaming up once again for a new stand-up comedy series. Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready will showcase diverse, up-and-coming comics, with a curated collection of half-hour sets.
The Girls Trip star has selected six of her favourite comedians, all talents that she has worked alongside behind the mic or on screen during her career. The funny people under the spotlight include Chaunté Wayans (50 Shades of Black), April Macie (Snoop Dogg’s Bad Girls of Comedy), Tracey Ashley (The Last O.G.), Aida Rodriguez (Last Comic Standing), Flame Monroe (Def Comedy Jam) and Marlo Williams (Comicview).
The series aims to counter the long-established trend within the industry of excluding women, people of colour and LGBTQ voices. It is exec-produced by Haddish, Wanda Sykes and Page Hurwitz. The project marks the latest in a growing relationship between Haddish and Netflix, following her own stand-up special and the animated series Tuca & Bertie.
