TheHorrorShow.TV has teamed up with the blog Nerdly to release To Jennifer on VOD.
Thought to be the first film shot entirely on an iPhone 5, James Cullen Bressack’s movie stars Jessica Cameron, Chuck Pappas, Jody Barton and Bressack himself. It follows Joey, who suspects his girlfriend is cheating on him and enlists his cousin, Steven, to create a video diary of his attempt to catch her in the act.
In an attempt to make her feel guilty, he intends to give this tape to her, documenting the heartbreak she has put him through.
“UK horror fans are some of the best horror fans in the world,” commented Jessica Cameron. “I was blessed to make a bunch of new friends at last year’s FrightFest and I am excited that another film of mine is (finally) finding a home in the UK market. It’s an honour.”
The film is exclusive to TheHorrorShow.TV in the UK and marks the first release under the “Nerdly Presents” banner, a joint venture between the VOD service and the UK blog, Nerdly. It is the latest in a string of creative thinking from the VOD site, which last year stepped into physical distribution to release a film on DVD. The copmany has also previously been nominated for VOD Campaign of the Year at the Screen Awards.
TheHorrorShow.tv and Nerdly first planned to release Bressack’s previous film, Hate Crime – which sees a Jewish family home invaded by neo-Nazis – but the movie was banned by the BBFC last month.
“It is the Board’s carefully considered conclusion that the unremitting manner in which Hate Crime focuses on physical and sexual abuse, aggravated by racist invective, means that to issue a classification too this work, even if confined to adults, would be inconsistent with the Board’s Guidelines, would risk potential harm, and would be unacceptable to broad public opinion,” said the BBFC in an official statement.
The movie will be released on TheHorrorShow.tv on Monday 20th April. Read on to watch the trailer – or for a list of what else is coming to the site this month, click here.
