The Girlfriend Experience will return to our screens this May, with Season 3 to debut on STARZPLAY.

The third season of the anthology series from Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s Eleven, Contagion) is written and directed by German filmmaker Anja Marquardt (She’s Lost Control), executive produced by Philip Fleishman (The Girlfriend Experience) and stars Brazilian-American actress Julia Goldani Telles (The Affair).

The third installment is set amid the London tech scene and focuses on Iris (Telles), a neuroscience major. As she begins to explore the transactional world of The Girlfriend Experience, Iris quickly learns that her client sessions provide her with a compelling edge in the tech world and vice versa. She then begins to question whether her actions are driven by free will, or something else altogether, and heads down a deep path of exploration.

Soderbergh and Fleishman executive produce the series with Jeff Cuban (The China Hustle). Marquardt also serves as co-executive producer. The 10-episode season had its world premiere at this year’s online SXSW festival, with the fest two episodes available for US audiences to stream during the festival.

The show will premiere worldwide on Sunday 2nd May on STARZPLAY. It joins a growing line-up of originals and exclusives on the streaming service, including Ramy, Power Book II: Ghost, The Stand and The Act. STARZPLAY costs £4.99 a month and is available an add-on to an Amazon Prime account through Amazon Prime Video Channels, as well as on Roku, iOS, Android, Apple TV and Virgin Media.
