Star: Disney+ to launch adult section in February

Disney+ has confirmed the launch of a long-rumoured adult section called Star, which will be added to the platform in February 2021.
Called Star, the brand will be home to thousands of hours of movies and television from Disney’s creative studios that would otherwise not fit within the family-friendly remit of Disney+. That will give an official streaming home to titles from Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios (the rebranded 20th Century Fox), 20th Television, Touchstone and more, with 1,000 unique titles lined up for its first year.
Star will be integrated into the Disney+ platform, sitting alongside the service’s other branded hubs, such as Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic. Star. There will be new parental controls added – including a PIN to lock profiles – to prevent younger family members accessing the mature content.
Also changing will be the overall price of Disney+, which will rise to £7.99 a month (or £79.90 per year) to include the expanded library.
