Sky+ is making binge-watching easier for customers with new features.
Sky has been placing a lot of emphasis on its premium Sky Q service this year, but the broadcast is still updating its legacy Sky+ platform with new features designed to help viewers catch up on their favourite shows on-demand.
Indeed, Sky is seeing more and more customers stream things as and when they want, with HBO’s The Night Of already downloaded and watched more than 5 million times across the broadcaster’s platforms. Auto Play and Catch Up Series Link, introduced today, will give a boost to the popularity of box sets. Auto Play will auto automatically start to play the next episode when customers reach the end of an episode – provided it’s already downloaded to their Planner. (Usersr can press the green button at any point during an episode to watch the next episode immediately.)
Catch Up Series Link will let customers easily set a series link on a Catch Up TV programme, recording future episodes of the show so customers never miss the programme again.
The new features follow the latest in a series of updates to Sky+ this year, including Download Next, which automatically downloads the next episode in a series customers’ are watching and the introduction of the Continue Watching tab in the Planner, so customers can easily pick up where they left off.
Sky has also improved the accessibility of its box, allowing customers to increase the font size on the Homepage and Services Homepage – customers can still adapt the contrast and font size across the whole Sky Guide.
