Toby Onwumere replaces Aml Ameen for Sense8 Season 2

Toby Onwumere has replaced Aml Ameen as Capheus in Season 2 of Sense8.
Netflix’s original sci-fi, about a group of strangers who are united by a shared psychic experience, boasted a large, globe-trotting cast, including Aml Ameen, who impressed in The Maze Runner as group leader Alby.
Ameen, though, has now left the series. Deadline reports that the actor may have had “some sort of conflict” with co-creator Lana Wachowski, perhaps to do with creative differences, which began during the table read for the show’s second season ahead of filming in India.
Whatever the reason, it’s a shame to see Ameen go and it’ll be intriguing to see the role in the new hands of relative newcomer Toby Onwumere.
Capheus is one of the show’s core characters – a young and determined bus driver in Nairobi who needs medicine for his sick mother.
Sense8 renewed for second season
9th August 2015
Sense8 has been renewed for a second season.
The sci-fi series from The Wachowskis and Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski was always conceived by its writers as a multi-season narrative, but a mixed reception from critics and no word on a follow-up run was perhaps starting to look ominous – indeed, Netflix’s most popular shows have been commissioned for another season almost immediately after their release, with Orange Is the New Black repeatedly renewed even before each season’s premiere.
Now, though, the streaming service has confirmed that the globe-trotting epic will definitely continue the journeys of our eight strangers around the world, who experienced a violent vision followed by the ability to connect with each other’s thoughts, actions and emotions. It’s no small commitment: the first season shot on locations all over the place, from Nairobi, Chicago, Reykjavik and Seoul to Berlin, Mumbai, Mexico City and London.
There is no word on a release date yet, nor even on a production start date. Netflix announced the news yesterday with this video:
