Amazon has renewed Reacher for a fourth season.
The series, which is based on the bestselling books by Lee Child, stars Alan Ritchson as veteran military police investigator Jack Reacher. Written by Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break), who also executive produces and serves as showrunner, the show has become a veritable hit for Amazon. Season 2 – based on Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th book in Child’s series of novels – was the most-watched title on Prime Video in 2023.
“Reacher’s confident, more personal second season is bigger, better and just as brutal,” we wrote in our review of Season 2.
Season 3 – based on Persuader, the seventh book in Child’s series – sees Reacher go undercover to rescue an informant held by a haunting foe from his past. Maria Sten will return for Season 3 as Negaley, a former comrade of Reacher in the military’s 110th Special Investigations Unit who works in corporate security. They will be joined by Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart and Olivier Richters.
Before that third chapter arrives in 2025, though, Amazon has already greenlit a fourth.
“Reacher has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations and we are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season,“ said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. “We are looking forward to more action and adventure from the immensely talented team behind the series including Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, Lee Child, Skydance, and CBS Studios.”
The news follows Amazon doubling down on its investment in Reacher by expanding the universe with spin-off, focusing on Sten’s Neagley.
