Raindance is looking for new and emerging online video creators to take part in a new event, StreaMART.
The event, which is supported by Creative Skillset, takes place on the mornings of 25th, 26th and 27th September at the Mayfair Hotel in central London. It will form part of Web Fest, a weekend-long event that takes place during the Raindance Film Festival, featuring a packed schedule of web series screenings, industry panel discussions and the only awards ceremony in the UK dedicated to independent digital series.
Designed to fill a current skills and knowledge gap, StreaMART offers filmmakers, screenwriters and creators a chance to meet, network and learn from industry experts representing video platforms, MCNS, commissioners, content distributors and co-production partners. Attendees will include representatives from companies such as YouTube, Film4 Digital, New Form Digital, Videojug Networks, Channelflip, BBC Comedy, Victorious, dailymotion, Maker Studios, Endemol Beyond and many more. Creators will get the chance to sit down with each of the expert guests and find out more about how commissioning, audience development, financing and distribution works for the digital video business.
Elisar Cabrera, Founder of Web Fest, comments: “We’re delighted to announce our partnership with Creative Skillset. The majority of UK creators working online have to date, been isolated from the mainstream of media production. StreaMART will plug the gap in the UK for an event where creators meet, inspire and ultimately will go on to produce great content for the web by learning from our experts how they can pitch, get commissioned, utilise platforms and build audiences effectively.”
Applications to attend StreaMART and are now open to UK residents in active development on online video projects. For further information on how to apply, visit raindancefestival.org/streamart-2015-raindance-web-fest. The deadline for applications is 5pm on 4th September 2015.
