Netflix has still got ongoing Beef with Lee Sung Jin, and it’s airing it by commissioning another chapter of what is now an anthology series.
Beef first kicked off when two strangers’ lives collided during a road rage incident: Danny Cho (Steven Yeun), a failing contractor, and Amy Lau (Ali Wong), a self-made entrepreneur. Over 10 escalating episode, their feud consumes them as their lives and relationships become intertwined in more ways than one.
“Steven Yeun and Ali Wong are brilliantly toxic in this riveting, alarming revenge thriller,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
Now, a second season is officially on the way, with a star-studded cast lining up to have beef with each other: Oscar Isaac (Dune, Ex Machina, Inside Llewyn Davis), Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman, Maestro), Charles Melton (May December, Warfare), Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla, Civil War, Alien: Romulus), and Yuh-Jung Youn (Minari, Pachinko).
Season 2 will follow a young couple who witness an alarming fight between their boss and his wife, triggering chess moves of favours and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.
Season 2 will comprise eight 30-minute episodes, with Lee returning as creator, showrunner, and executive producer. Jake Schreier will also executive produce, alongside executive producers Steven Yeun and Ali Wong.
