Noah Centineo will star in a new CIA series for Netflix.
The actor, who shot to stardom with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, is one of the major stars in the new generation of Netflix-made celebrities, becoming an instant heartthrob thanks to turns in romantic comedies The Perfect Date and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. He has since built on his streaming success with appearances in 2019’s Charlie’s Angels and in upcoming DC flick Black Adam. Now, he’s heading back to Netflix and into TV territory with a new espionage drama.
Produced by Entertainment One and Hypnotic, the hour-long series is created by The Rookie’s Alexi Hawley, who will serve as showrunner. Hawley and Centineo will exec-produce, along with Hypnotic’s Doug Liman, Gene Klein and David Bartis.
Centineo will play a fledgling lawyer at the CIA, who becomes involved in a dangerous game of international power politics, when a former asset threatens to expose her long-term relationship with the agency, unless she’s pardoned of a serious crime.
Deadline reports that the working title was Graymail when the project was being shopped around. Now, Netflix has snapped up the rights, but has not confirmed a title.
