New photos give us a closer look at BBC Three’s Class

There are only three days until BBC Three’s Doctor Who spin-off, Class, finally arrives.
Created Patrick Ness, the young adult series charts a course that navigates extra-terrestrial threats through the equally perilous galaxy of teenage hormones, exams and detention.
The show begins with a new term at Coal Hill Academy, a school in modern-day London that is no stranger to the Whoniverse, and students are preparing for their Autumn Prom. But when the school comes under attack from the monstrous Shadow Kin, four alienated students – Charlie (Greg Austin), April (Sophie Hopkins), Ram (Fady Elsayed) and Tanya (Vivian Oparah) – and their physics teacher, Miss Quill (Katherine Kelly), must form an unlikely alliance to defeat them.
Episodes 1 and 2 of the show premiere on BBC iPlayer at 10am on Saturday 22nd October. The Beeb has already released the official synopses for both episodes, but now we have a closer look at our main characters in action, thanks to a whole heap of new images from the show.
There’s a glimpse of Peter Capaldi’s Doctor talking to Miss Quill, lots of people running through corridors, Miss Quill proving herself handy with a stapler, plus our first real shot of the new aliens facing these kids – an alien that looks an awful lot like a Pyrovile, who, of course, first appeared in The Fires of Pompeii, in which a pre-Time Lord Peter Capaldi played a Roman general. Oh, and a rather nifty alien sword. It’s all very, very intriguing…
