New Man of Steel parody web series launches Kickstarter campaign

Think you know Man of Steel? Think again. A new web series has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the behind-the-scenes “true story” of how the superhero blockbuster was made.
Tales from Development Hell: Waiting for Man of Steel follows the introduction of Christopher Nolan (played by Geoff Cotton) and Zack Snyder (played by Pierce Hunt) by an eager studio executive (Bhavnisha Parmar).
Written by Eoin Mason, Andrew Jones and Shawn Cain, the parody presents Nolan as a “serious, proper filmmaker” and Snyder as a “hyperactive, enthusiastic, overly excitable fanboy”. What impresses about the amusing first episode, though, is Cotton’s take on the British director, which has the potential to be equally damning and suggests the show has ambitions above Zack Snyder-bashing.
The trio have launched a Kickstarter in the hope of raising £4,000 to fund the rest of the series, mostly to (admirably) cover the cost of paying their crew, both in front of and behind the cameras. The deadline for the campaign is Sunday 13th July. Rewards for Kickstarters range from Development Hell pens and notebooks to spoof posters used in the making of the pilot and a signed script.
