Netflix will stream the premiere of Our Planet live in cinemas across the UK next week – for free.
The nature documentary, produced by Blue Planet’s Silverback Films, Ltd. and in partnership with WWF, promises stunning, never-before-seen footage of wildlife and their habitats, helping audiences discover why the natural world matters to us all and what steps must be taken to preserve it. The eight-hour series is narrated by national treasure Sir David Attenborough and will premiere at London’s Natural History Museum on Thursday 4th April.
The event will be attended by Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales, The Duke Of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex. Netflix will beam that premiere into 10 cinemas to see a live stream of the ambassadors, celebrities and guests arriving and being interviewed, along with a screening of the first episode before the whole show drops on Netflix on Friday 5th April (along with additional behind-the-scenes content).
Cinemas participating are located in Belfast, Birmingham New Street, Glasgow Braehead, Guildford, Liverpool One, London – Greenwich, Manchester – Trafford Centre, Newcastle – Silverlink, Norwich, Southampton and Swansea.
Doors will open at 6pm for an hour-long broadcast of the red (well, green) carpet, followed a screening of the first episode at 7pm. To apply for free tickets, visit https://www.weticketit.com/seeitfirst/booking/Event/detail/XXD29570. Watch the trailer for the series here.
