The Recruit will officially return to Netflix for Season 2.
The spy thriller stars Noah Centineo as Owen, a fledgling lawyer at the CIA, who becomes enmeshed in dangerous international power politics when a former asset (Laura Haddock) threatens to expose the nature of her long-term relationship with the agency unless they exonerate her of a serious crime.
The series premiered on Netflix on 16th December, just in time for binge-watching over the Christmas season.
“A charming, energetic turn from Noah Centineo makes this CIA thriller a fun – and funny – watch,” we wrote in our review.
Now, just over a month later, Netflix has confirmed that the show will return, with Centineo back in the lead role as well as exec-producing alongside showrunner Alexi Hawley.
“I know I speak for our entire cast and executive team at eOne and Netflix when I say that we’re thrilled to be returning to The Recruit for a second season,” Centineo said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to seeing what Alexi Hawley has in store for us all.”
“I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, action-packed world of The Recruit,” added Hawley. “Seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world has been incredibly rewarding, and I can’t wait to turn it all up to 11 in Season 2.”
