Trailer: Dear White People returns for Season 4

Dear White People returns to Netflix this September and a new trailer gives us a first look at it’s fourth and final season.
Set against the backdrop of senior year at Winchester as well as a not-so-distant, post-pandemic future, Dear White People Vol. 4 finds our characters looking back at the most formative (and theatrical) year of their lives. Both an Afro-futuristic and 90s-inspired musical event, Dear White People Vol. 4 is a can’t-miss, farewell experience with one pitch-perfect promise: sometimes the only way to move forward is to throw it back.
From creator Justin Simien, Dear White People stars Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson and Marque Richardson. Simien and executive producer Jaclyn Moore serve as co-showrunners.
Season 4 will premiere on 22nd September. Here’s the trailer:
Dear White People is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £8.99 monthly subscription.
Dear White People will return for fourth and final season
3rd October 2019
Netflix has food and bad news for fans of Dear White People: the show will return for a fourth season, but that season will also be its last.
The series, based on the film of the same name by Justin Simien and explores post-racial America with satirical wit. Season 1 followed Troy Fairbanks (Brandon P. Bell), the son of the dean of students, who is campaigning to become Winchester University’s first black student president. Navigating a predominantly white Ivy League college, where racial tensions are often swept under the rug, the show wove a universal story about forging one’s own unique path among a diverse group of students, all held together by Samantha White (Logan Browning), whose titular radio show gives her a post in the campus’ political movement.
Browning, P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson and Marque Richardson returned for Season 2, with Yvette Lee Bowser still on board as showrunner. Within a month of that season dropping, Netflix had confirmed a third season, with Giancarlo Esposito dropping the news in a cryptic video purportedly from the Order of X, the university’s secret society.
Now, a few months after that season’s debut, Netflix has confirmed that the show has one more outing to go, with creator Justin Simien returning as co-showrunner for the 10 episodes.
“I’m so grateful my little indie-that-could has made it to four seasons at Netflix,” Simien said in a statement. “This show, along with the many talented storytellers it has brought into my orbit, has changed my life and I can’t wait to create a celebratory final volume befitting such a transformative experience.”
The renewal announcement was made by the staff via a video on Facebook and Twitter.
The renewal sees the show join a wave of Netflix originals ending after their next seasons, including BoJack Horseman, Grace and Frankie, The Ranch and GLOW.

From playing with the narrator to The Order of X, what’s in store promises to be unpredictable, with change firmly in the air – not to mention teasing digs at RuPaul and Queer Eye.
