Netflix nabs Super-Normal, starring Josh God, Luke Evans and Daisy Ridley

Netflix has nabbed the rights to Super-Normal, a new movie starring Josh Gad, Luke Evans and Daisy Ridley.
The cast list alone is grab anyone’s attention, with all three names bonafide stars in their own right. Josh Gad, whose breakout performance came with Olaf in Frozen, is now one of Hollywood’s most sought-after fast-talking comedians, while Evans has impressed repeatedly with a mix of blockbuster roles in Fast & Furious 6 and The Hobbit with intense character performances, such as Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise.
The project marks a reunion for Gad and Evans, who co-starred as Gaston and LeFou in the recent live action update of Cinderella. Evans is exec-producing Super-Normal, while Gad is on producing duties alongside Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich of Lin Pictures.
Super-Normal also marks a reunion for Netflix and Lin (The LEGO Movie, Sherlock Holmes, IT), after he worked as a producer on the streaming service’s recent remake of Death Note. And speaking of reunions, Gad has also just worked with Ridley on Kenneth Branagh’s new adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express.
Not much is known about the project, but Variety reports that it is a “subversive take on the superhero genre”. Gad developed the idea with Evans and Aaron and Jordan Kandell, who are attached to write the script. Stay tuned for more details as we get them.
