Netflix confirms June release date for Sense8

Netflix has confirmed that The Wachowskis’ series Sense8 will premiere in June.
The show, which marks Netflix’s first step into original science fiction territory, is something of a mystery, although one thing is guaranteed: with the directors of Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending involved, it’s sure to be something epic.
Now, though, the pair have let slip some details.
“We told Netflix we were like, ‘We’re only interested in doing this. It’s going to be so hard, it’s not very much money. We’re only interested in it if we can do anything. And I mean anything. Like crazy psychic orgies with all sorts of different bodies.’ And they were like, ‘Yeah sure, cool great,'” Lana Wachowski told io9 last month.
Andy added that they had even filmed live births for the series.
“It’s science fiction but it’s more about humanity. It’s about everything… we have live births… Babies coming out of vaginas…”
An official synopsis from Netflix reads like this:
One gunshot, one death, one moment out of time that irrevocably links eight minds in disparate parts of the world, putting them in each other’s lives, each other’s secrets, and in terrible danger.
The 12-episode series, which is co-created by Babylon 5’s J. Michael Straczynski, follows these ‘Sensates’, with a cast that includes Naveen Andrews, Daryl Hannah, Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Aml Ameen, Freema Agyeman, Tena Desae, Doona Bae, Max Riemelt, Alfonso Herrera, Erendira Ibarra, Jamie Clayton, Miguel Silvestri and Terrence Mann.
Sense8 will premiere on Netflix on Friday 5th June. Expect to hear a lot more about those live births before then.
