In preparation for the world premiere of the Muppets’ first-ever streaming show, Muppets Now, Kermit the Frog has conducted a video chat to break the news that Disney+ has ordered six half-hour muppisodes.
“The Muppets are thrilled to be doing our first-ever unscripted show! It’s going to be extremely spontaneous and very surprising; almost as surprising as the fact that we ever actually used a script in the past,” said Kermit in a statement.
With a full roster of rotating guest stars, world-class production facilities, and pure unscripted mayhem, Muppets Now breaks new ground for the gang in their Disney+ debut. This season’s celebrity guests include entertainers, comedians, chefs, and more. Fans won’t want to miss all-new improvised comedy segments from their favourite Muppets including Miss Piggy, Beaker, Camilla, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo the Great, Kermit the Frog, Pepe the King Prawn, The Swedish Chef, Scooter, Uncle Deadly, among others.
Produced by The Muppets Studio and Soapbox Films, the series premieres on Disney+ on 31st July, with new episodes released weekly on Fridays. The series joins a collection of Muppet movies, series, and shorts on Disney+.

Muppets Now: Disney+ drops unscripted The Muppets series this July
21st May 2020
The Muppets are officially heading to Disney+ this July, with new unscripted series Muppets Now.
The Muppets Studio’s first original series for Disney+, the six-episode series will see Scooter rush to make his delivery deadlines and upload the brand-new Muppet series for streaming. They are due now, and he’ll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions, and complications the rest of the Muppet gang throws at him.
Overflowing with spontaneous lunacy, surprising guest stars and more frogs, pigs, bears (and whatevers) than legally allowed, the Muppets will cut loose in the new format that, after the divisive ABC mockumentary in 2015, aims to recapture the silliness and heartfelt fun that first made them famous.
The series, featuring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the rest of the gang, will premiere on Disney+ on 31st July. Until then, here’s a cute thread of Muppets responding to the news on Twitter.
