Muppet Guys host special online chat to honour Jim Henson

The Muppet Guys will be celebrating the life and work of Jim Henson today to mark the 30th anniversary of his passing.
Henson, the puppeteer, animator, cartoonist and actor who created The Muppets, as well as Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, has educated and entertaining millions of children and families worldwide, even though many of them would have known him just as the voice of Kermit the Frog.
In 2017, five of the original Muppet performers came together to give an insight into the making of their iconic characters. Combined with behind-the-scenes footage and frank anecdotes, the result was Muppet Guys Talking, an indie documentary capturing the spirit, culture and innovation behind The Muppets. Now, three years after they released the documentary online on their own website, the Muppet Guys are getting back together for the anniversary of Henson’s passing.
Frank Oz (Cookie Monster, Miss Piggy, Animal), Fran Brill (The Countess, Prairie Dawn Zoe), Dave Goelz (The Great Gonzo, Zoot) and Bill Barretta (Pepe the King Prawn, Bobo the Bear) — four of the original Muppet performers – will talk about the visionary work of Jim Henson, which was never just about entertainment.
The live-stream conversation and celebration will also ask viewers to donate to the key workers on the front lines battling the coronavirus pandemic.
The special event will be free to view at muppetguystalking.com/jim/ and begin at 9pm UK time (4pm ET).
