Just when you think that Somewhere Only We Know has been overused in trailers, along comes the creepily effective new teaser for Midnight Mass, Mike Flanagan’s new Netflix series.
This little island, so sleepy it might be dead. The isolated community on Crockett Island experiences miraculous events – and frightening omens – following the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest. The horror story is set on Crockett Island, an isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?

Mike Flanagan and Netflix are reteaming this September for new horror show Midnight Mass.
The series, announced in 2019, introduces us to Crockett Island, an isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?
The project stems from Flanagan’s multi-year TV deal inked between Netflix and Flanagan’s Intrepid Pictures production banner. It stars Kate Siegel (Oculus, Hush), Annabeth Gish (The Haunting of Hill House), Michael Trucco (Hunter Killer), Samantha Sloyan (Grey’s Anatomy), Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House),Rahul Abburi (Killer Ransom), Crystal Balint (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco), Matt Biedel (Altered Carbon), Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep), Rahul Kohli (Supergirl), Kristin Lehman (The Chronicles of Riddick), Robert Longstreet (Doctor Sleep), Igby Rigney (Blue Bloods) and Annarah Shephard.

Kate Siegel and Zach Gilford to star in Netflix’s Midnight Mass

The Haunting of Hill House star Kate Siegel is reuniting with director Mike Flanagan for new horror series Midnight Mass.
The series, announced last summer, explores an isolated island community that experiences miraculous events – and frightening omens – after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.
The project stems from Flanagan’s multi-year TV deal inked between Netflix and Flanagan’s Intrepid Pictures production banner. While the project marks a continuation of Netflix’s relationship with the Hush and Hill House director – The Haunting of Bly Manor, a follow-up, is already in the works – it also sees Siegel continue to work with Flanagan, who is her husband, after starring in his Gerald’s Game, Oculus, Hill House and Hush, the latter of which she co-wrote.
She will be joined on screen by Zach Gilford (The Purge: Anarchy) and Hamish Linklater (Legion), as well as Annabeth Gish (The Haunting of Hill House), Michael Trucco (Hunter Killer), Samantha Sloyan (Grey’s Anatomy), Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House),Rahul Abburi (Killer Ransom), Crystal Balint (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco), Matt Biedel (Altered Carbon), Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep), Rahul Kohli (Supergirl), Kristin Lehman (The Chronicles of Riddick), Robert Longstreet (Doctor Sleep), Igby Rigney (Blue Bloods) and Annarah Shephard.
Netflix has commissioned seven episodes from producers Flanagan and Trevor Macy, who have worked together under their Intrepid banner on Hill House, Before I Wake and Doctor Sleep.
Production on Midnight Mss will begin this spring in Vancouver.
Mike Flanagan takes Netflix to Midnight Mass

Mike Flanagan is taking Netflix to Midnight Mass for his latest original series.
Flanagan, who has directed such modern horror gems as Oculus, has seen massive success through his relationship with Netflix, from original movies such as Hush to the smash hit series The Haunting of Hill House. The latter has since graduated to anthology status, with Netflix ordering a follow-up, The Haunting of Bly Manor, based on The Turn of the Screw.
Flanagan is already at work on his next Netflix project, though, under the multi-year television deal between the streamer and Trevor Macy and Flanagan’s Intrepid Pictures.
