Mark Wahlberg and Kevin Hart are teaming up to take some Me Time at Netflix.
The duo, who have not worked together before, will star together in the new comedy film for the streamer. It will be written by John Hamburg, who penned Hart’s Night School, with Hamburg also directing and producing. Hart will produce as well, along with Bryan Smiley for HartBeat Productions.
The film is part of HartBeat’s multiyear first-look deal with the streamer, which recently snapped up Hart’s film Fatherhood. Walhberg is no stranger to Netflix either, with the actor recently starring in the streamer’s action-comedy Spenser Confidential, which racked up 85 million views in its first four weeks on release.
In Me Time, Hart will play a stay-at-home dad who finds himself with spare time to himself for the first time in years when his wife and kids are away. He reconnects with his best friend (Wahlberg) for a wild weekend that threatens to upend his life.
Also on board the project are exec-producers Lauren Hennessey, Mark Moran and Patricia Braga from HartBeat, plus Joe Gatta.
