“When someone says something is impossible, I prove it’s possible.” That’s the sound of Amazon bringing Tales from the Loop to our screens, and a new trailer promises an eerily unusual collection of stories.
Perhaps the first series ever based on viral pictures, it is based on the acclaimed art of Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, Tales from the Loop explores the town and people who live above “The Loop”, a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe – making things possible that were previously relegated only to science fiction. In this fantastical mysterious town, poignant human tales are told by baring universal emotional experiences, while drawing on the intrigue of genre storytelling.
What if you could change the flow of time, control robots and discover a doppelgänger of yourself from another dimension? For the townspeople living above ‘The Loop’, this is just another day.
From executive producer Matt Reeves (Let the Right One In), the show was created by Nathaniel Halpern, who wrote all eight episodes. In front of the camera are Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Town), Paul Schneider (Parks and Recreation), Daniel Zolghadri (Eighth Grade), Duncan Joiner (Waco) and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, Game of Thrones).
You can see the intriguing, enigmatic end result on 3rd April, when the whole series arrives on Amazon Prime Video. Here’s the new video:
