Joan Allen, Sung Kang join Lisey’s Story at Apple TV+
15th December 2019
Lisey’s Story continues to expand its cast by adding impressive names to the line-up.
Produced by JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television, the eight-parter is based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, first published in 2006.
Every marriage has two hearts, one light and one dark. Lisey knew it when she first fell for Scott. And now he’s dead, she knows it for sure. Lisey was the light to Scott Landon’s dark for 25 years. As his wife, only she saw the truth behind the public face of the famous author – that he was a haunted man whose bestselling novels were based on a terrifying reality. Now Scott has gone, Lisey wants to lock herself away with her memories. But the fans have other ideas. And when the sinister threats begin, Lisey realises that, just as Scott depended on her strength – her light – to live, so she will have to draw on his darkness to survive.
Julianne Moore and Clive Owen are already attached to play Lisey and Scott, with Dane Dehaan playing Jim, a fan of Scott’s books who feels strongly about his unpublished work being released.
Three-time Oscar nominee and two time Tony winner Joan Allen will play Amanda, the eldest of Lisey’s (Moore) sisters, while Sung Kang (The Fast and the Furious franchise) joined the cast of Apple TV+ thriller Lisey’s Story.
The Oscar-nominated Children of Men and Closer star will take the lead role opposite Julianne Moore in the series. Produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television, the eight-parter is based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, first published in 2006.

Apple has given the drama a straight-to-series order from Warner Bros. TV and Bad Robot Productions. J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson will also exec-produce. It marks the third project at Apple’s upcoming subscription streaming service from Bad Robot Productions, alongside Little Voice, starring Sara Bareilles, and My Glory Was I Had Such Friends, starring Jennifer Garner.
