Trailer: Clive Owen’s Last Knights gets day and date release
David Farnor | On 14, Apr 2015
Sword-slashing actioner Last Knights will be available to watch online in the UK on the same day it arrives in cinemas.
The movie marks the English language debut of Japanese director Kazuaki Kiriya (Casshern, Goemon) and stars Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman.
The film follows fallen warrior Raiden, who, in an age of honour and justice by the sword, must rise up against a corrupt and sadistic ruler to avenge Bartok (Freeman), his dishonoured master.
The cast also includes Headhunters and Pioneer star Aksel Hennie, alongside Iranian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters), South Korea’s Ahn Sung-ki (The Tower) and Italian star Giorgio Caputo (The Hideout).
The film is released by Signature Entertainment in the UK, a distributor that has established itself as a significant player in the VOD market: the company recently released Predestination day-and-date in the UK, and also offered the country’s first digital “SuperTicket” with the film Kidnapping Freddy Heineken, which gave customers who paid for a cinema ticket a free digital copy through Wuaki.tv
Last Knights hits cinemas and VOD on Friday 17th April. We’ll have a list of sites where you can stream it then. For now, you can watch the trailer above.
