Trailer: Hoops hits Netflix this August

Jake Johnson plays Coach Ben Hopkins, a man who takes life by the ball in Hoops, Netflix’s new animated comedy.
The adult animation is created by Ben Hoffman. Hoffman, Johnson, Seth Cohen, M. Dickson, Itay Reiss, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as executive producers.
It premieres on Netflix on 21st August and, judging by this new trailer, isn’t afraid to play things as close to the rim as possible. Coach Ben Hopkins is taking life by the ball. HOOPS, a Netflix original animated comedy series starring Jake Johnson, premieres August 21.
HOOPS is created by Ben Hoffman. Hoffman, Johnson, Seth Cohen, M. Dickson, Itay Reiss, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller serve as executive producers. Hoops is produced by 20th Century Fox Television and animated by Bento Box.

Netflix is sinking Hoops this August with its new adult animation, and we’ve got our first look at the series.
The comedy centres around a hot-headed, foul-mouthed high school basketball coach who thinks turning around his awful team will take him to the big leagues. Jake Johnson (New Girl, BoJack Horseman, Spider Man: Into the Spider-verse) will voice the character of Coach Ben Hopkins. The series is created by Ben Hoffman, who serves as writer and executive producer, with Phil Lord & Chris Miller (The Lego Movie), Seth Cohen and Johnson on board NWEPs.
The series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television, with Bento Box (Bob’s Burgers) providing the animation.
It was first announced back in 2018. Now, it’s finally about to arrive on our screens, joining a host of other adult animations such as BoJack Horseman, Paradise PD and Disenchantment. The show marks Netflix’s ongoing push into adult-oriented animated series, from Matt Groening’s Disenchantment and Paradise PD (from the makers of Brickleberry) to space series Final Space, hormone-addled comedy Big Mouth and Amberville, from the co-director of Sausage Party.
