ITV has signed a deal with AMC to bring a string of box sets to its streaming platform ITVX.
The deal will bring two catalogues of AMC titles to the ITV catch-up service. AMC Stories includes drama and comedy from AMC Networks, featuring original series such as Brockmire and The Son. Some are titles that were previously exclusives on Amazon Prime, as part of Amazon’s former deal with AMC, while others, such as Creepshow, have previously been exclusively available on AMC’s horror subscription streaming platform, Shudder.
AMC Reality, meanwhile, will feature reality TV series such as Love After Lock Up, Growing Up Hip Hop, Amazing Wedding Cakes, Million Dollar Matchmaker and LA Hair. AMC Reality will launch on ITVX in May, while AMC Stories launched on ITVX on 8th April, with titles now available to stream.
The deal follow the ITVX debut of True Crime UK, which showcases gripping true crime content and is a collaboration between ITV and the CBS AMC Networks UK Channels Partnership, owned by AMCNI UK and Paramount Global.
Here’s the rundown of drama and comedy box sets that have been added this week:
Finding Joy: Season 1 to 2 (2018-2020)
Amy Huberman created, wrote, and stars in this warm, funny and irreverent Irish comedy. Orderly, structured Joy is dealing with a messy breakup when a new work assignment forces her to look for happiness in the most unusual places.
Brockmire: Season 1 to 4 (2017-2020)
Follows Jim Brockmire (Hank Azaria), a famed major league baseball announcer who suffered a notorious public breakdown after stumbling upon his wife’s infidelity – a breakdown so bad that “Brutal Brockmire” became a viral internet meme. Season 1 began a decade later, as Brockmire looked to reclaim his career and reputation by calling games for the Morristown Frackers, an underdog minor league baseball team.
The Son: Season 1 to 2 (2017 – 2019)
Based on Philipp Meyer’s acclaimed Pulitzer Prize finalist novel, this sweeping family saga spans 150 years and three generations of the McCullough family. The series traces the transformation of Eli McCullough (Pierce Brosnan), the charismatic family patriarch, from good-natured innocent to calculating killer. He loses everything on the wild frontier, setting him on the path to building a ranching-and-oil dynasty of unsurpassed wealth and privilege.
Portlandia: Season 1 to 8 (2011-2018)
Portlandia is created, written by stars Fred Armisen (SNL) and Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney vocalist/guitarist). Each episode’s character-based shorts draw viewers into “Portlandia,” the creators’ dreamy and absurd rendering of Portland, OR.
Lodge 49: Season 1 to 2 (2018-2019)
Lodge 49 is a light-hearted, endearing modern fable set in Long Beach, California about a disarmingly optimistic local ex-surfer, Dud, who’s drifting after the death of his father and collapse of the family business.
Documentary Now! Season 1 to 4 (2015-2022)
Starring Fred Armisen (Portlandia) and Bill Hader (Barry), the Emmy Nominated Documentary Now! parodies the current obsession with documentaries featuring different stories and stylistic approaches paying tribute to the doc format. Created by Seth Meyers (Late Night with Seth Meyers), Bill Hader and Fred Armisen.
Creepshow: Season 1 to 4 (2019-2023)
This anthology series based on the 1982 classic, is the most fun you’ll ever have being scared! Vignettes explore terrors from murder to the supernatural and unexplainable.
The Spoils of Babylon (2014)
A miniseries based on fictional famous author Eric Jonrosh’s (Will Ferrell) epic best-selling novel “The Spoils of Babylon”, a century-spanning saga about the sexy and dramatic lives of a family that has made a fortune in the oil business.
The Spoils Before Dying (2015)
Fictional author-filmmaker, Eric Jonrosh, adapts his epic tale of a pianist-turned-detective investigating a murder in the 1950s underground jazz scene.
Cold Blooded: The Clutter Family Murders (2017)
A docuseries that focuses on the crime that shocked the nation – the 1959 brutal murder of four members of the Clutter family. The crime, seemingly without motive, would later be chronicled in Truman Capote’s seminal book, In Cold Blood.
Dietland (2018)
Equal parts revenge fantasy and heartfelt journey to self-acceptance, Dietland is a darkly comedic story that explores a multitude of issues faced by women today – including patriarchy, misogyny, rape culture, and unrealistic beauty standards.
