Into the Badlands Season 2 gets March air date

Into the Badlands Season 2 will premiere this March, AMC has confirmed.
The show, which was ranked in our list of the underrated shows of 2015, is that rare thing: a martial arts TV programme. Set in an apocalyptic future world, the show follows a warrior – Sunny (Daniel Wu) – and a young boy – M.K. (Aramis Knight) – who search for enlightenment in a ruthless society controlled by feudal barons.
Speaking at its panel during the Television Critics Association winter press tour this weekend – where it also revealed details of Better Call Saul Season 3 – AMC confirmed that the show is returning for a second on Sunday 19th March. That means you can expect episodes to arrive weekly on Amazon Prime Video from Monday 20th March, within 24 hours of their US debut. The new run will begin with Sunny and M.K. separated and imprisoned, with Sunny aiming to fight his way back into the Badlands and M.K. still struggling to control his powers.
Speaking to us when Season 1 was released, Wu revealed the hard work that went into the programme’s stunning fight scenes: even before they were renewed for Season 2, he was getting in shape.
“I’m already training for next season, even though we haven’t been green-lit, because I need to get my body ready for it,” he explained. “For me, especially at my age, it’s not just speed and power I need to work on, but also getting my body to recover faster and also not getting hurt – protecting all my joints and that stuff. Whereas in my twenties I didn’t think about that at all, I just went and did it.”
