Hunt or be hunted: House of Cards Season 2 trailer gets our vote

“There is but one rule: hunt or be hunted.”
That’s Frank Underwood in the new trailer for House of Cards Season 2, which is released on Netflix UK on Friday 14th February.
It’s a quote that immediately sets the tone for the Netflix Original show’s return. Season One gleefully exposed the cat-and-mouse political games of the US government, led by a Richard III-esque Spacey. And this Season 2 trailer makes it clear Frank’s not about to stop having fun any time soon, even as his house of cards threatens to collapse.
Kevin Spacey practically cackles his way through the two-minute video, as Robin Wright’s wife Claire, Kate Mara’s intrepid journalist Zoe and everyone else in the cast lines up to trade dramatic, threatening one-liners.
“Democracy is so overrated.” “Can you blame me if I find it difficult to trust you right now?” “I won’t submit myself to this sort of exposure again.”
Frankly, we could watch this ensemble recite the ingredients on a box of Coco Pops and be entertained. Get them to say dialogue by Beau Willimon (The Ides of March) – and chuck in a new House of Cards Season 2 poster – and the prospect of another 13 episodes is thrilling.
