Grand Piano available to watch online in the UK on same day as in cinemas

Grand Piano will be available to watch online the same day it is released in UK cinemas, VODzilla.co can confirm.
The thriller, directed by Eugenio Mira, stars Elijah Wood as Tom Selznick, a piano prodigy who suffers from stage fright.
Years after a catastrophic performance, the pianist performs once more in public – only to be held hostage by a sniper in the audience. Their threat? Play one wrong note and he dies.
The ridiculously entertaining (trust us: it is) pile of nonsense rockets along with barely a thought for logic or seriousness.
The film premiered at Fantastic Fest in 2013 (and screened at the London Film Festival shortly after) before going on to get a VOD release in the US in January from veteran day-and-date distributor Magnet Releasing. It then went on to enjoy a theatrical release in March.
Now, it is looking to play a similar tune in the UK, with Icon rolling the piano out onto digital platforms on Friday 19th September, the same day when it starts playing in cinemas.
Grand Piano will be released on a range of VOD services, from blinkbox and iTunes to FilmFlex’s portfolio of Film4oD, Virgin Movies and others. We’ll have the full rundown and a more detailed verdict for you next week.
Until then, here’s the trailer:
