Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson are reteaming for Ghosted, a new romantic-adventure for Apple TV+.
The film, which is written by Deadpool and Zombieland scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, is a high-profile project likely to be in the vein of Romancing the Stone, with Rocketman helmer Dexter Fletcher set to direct.
The film is produced by Skydance, which has become a key player in recent years among streamers, having worked with Amazon on The Tomorrow War and Without Remorse and with Netflix on Old Guard and the upcoming Old Guard sequel.
It marks a reunion for Evans and Johansson, who have starred alongside each other in multiple Marvel films as Captain America and Black Widow. It also marks a move into streaming just as Johansson files a lawsuit against Disney for its decision to release Black Widow online and in cinemas on the same day earlier this year.
Evans, meanwhile, is no stranger to streaming either, having worked with Apple Studios on the TV series Defending Jacob, which generated some awards buzz for his performance, and with Netflix on the thriller The Gray Man, opposite Ryan Gosling.
