“We have a problem.” “I think we might have a few problems.” That’s the sound of 13 Reasons Why returning to Netflix, and a new trailer gives us a full glimpse of the final season.
The teen drama, which is based on the book by Jay Asher, initially followed the death of high-school student Hannah, who committed suicide and left behind a group of cassette tapes that explained her story and named all the people who should receive the box. The programme has proven controversial, due to its depiction of both suicide and sexual assault, but has been renewed up until its fourth – and final – run.
The new season finds Liberty High School’s class preparing for graduation, as they are forced to make life-changing and heartbreaking choices about how their past will impact their future.
Season 4 premieres on 5th June. Here’s the trailer:
All episodes of 13 Reasons Why are now available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.

Gary Sinise joins 13 Reasons Why Season 4

Gary Sinise has joined the cast of 13 Reasons Why for its fourth and final season.
The teen drama, which is based on the book by Jay Asher, follows the death of high-school student Hannah, who committed suicide and left behind a group of cassette tapes that explained her story and named all the people who should receive the box. The programme has proven controversial, due to its depiction of both suicide and sexual assault. Its reception has also become notably less positive as it has continued.
Nonetheless it reached a fourth season order, although the streaming giant has confirmed that fourth run will be the last. It will follow the graduation of the core cast from high school, including Clay (Dylan Minnette), Tony (Christian Navarro), Jessica (Alisha Boe), Alex (Miles Heizer), Justin (Brandon Flynn), Zach (Ross Butler) and Tyler (Devin Druid).
Now, they’re being joined by a Hollywood stalwart in the form of Sinise, who Deadline reports will play a pivotal regular role opposite Minnette. He will play Dr. Robert Ellman, a “compassionate, incisive, no-nonsense adolescent and family therapist” who works with Clay to help him deal with anxiety, depression, and grief.
“From the first moments we conceived of the role, I thought of Gary Sinise, but hardly dared to dream it might happen,” say creator Brian Yorkey. “A consummate actor and first-rate human, Gary brings the exact combination of toughness, smarts, and heart the character needs. We’re all thrilled and honored to have him join us for this pivotal role in our final season.”
