“Asked if the royal family were out of touch with the people, 53 per cent said yes.”
The Crown returns this month for the final part of its final season – and a new trailer gives us a first look at the show’s concluding chapter.
Inspired by real events, the fictional dramatisation tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign. Season 6 is the final instalment and it’s into two parts. After the first focused on Diana, the second part will jump forward to the early 2000s, with Prince William (Ed McVey) entering university at St Andrews, where he hopes to lead as normal a life as possible before taking up his royal responsibilities. Little does he know that the future for the crown begins right on campus, when he meets fellow student from Berkshire Kate Middleton (Meg Bellamy). Meanwhile, royal wedding bells are ringing for Charles (Dominic West) and Camilla (Olivia Williams).
Part 2 premieres on 14th December. Here’s the trailer:

“I don’t really understand how I ended up here…” That’s the sound of Princess Diana taking centre stage in the final season of The Crown – and a new trailer gives us a first look at her final chapter.
Inspired by real events, the fictional dramatisation tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign. Season 6 will be the final instalment and it will be split into two parts – the first promising to focus on Diana, which suggests that the second will move on past her tragic death.
The cast will once again feature Imelda Staunton as Elizabeth II, alongside Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles. Joining them are Jonny Lee Miller as John Major, Salim Daw as Mohamed Al Fayed and Khalid Abdalla as Doi Fayed – and also Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair and Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards as Princes William and Harry in earlier episodes, before Luther Ford takes over for the latter later in the season.
Season 6 will eventually wind up in the early 2000s, with Prince William (Ed McVey) entering university at St Andrews, where he hopes to lead as normal a life as possible before taking up his royal responsibilities. Little does he know that the future for the crown begins right on campus, when he meets fellow student from Berkshire Kate Middleton (Meg Bellamy).
Part 1 will premiere on 16th November, and looks set to focus on Princess Diana, followed by Part 2 on 14th December. Here’s the trailer:

The royal drama, which charts the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II, has been a hit for the streaming giant, picking up awards and nominations galore. It takes on a poignant new light following the death of the Queen – the show paused production out of respect – but the drama nonetheless marches on, with Season 5 last year introducing Imelda Staunton as Elizabeth II, alongside Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne and Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles. Joining them were Jonny Lee Miller as John Major, Salim Daw as Mohamed Al Fayed and Khalid Abdalla as Doi Fayed.

Little does he know that the future for the crown begins right on campus, when he meets fellow student from Berkshire Kate Middleton (Meg Bellamy).
Newcomer Bellamy submitted her audition tape after seeing a casting call on social media. Meanwhile, McVey is making his screen debut after stage performances at The Old Vic and Hammersmith Riverside Studios.
Other additions to the cast include Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair, Rufus Kampa and Fflyn Edwards as Princes William and Harry in earlier episodes, plus Luther Ford taking over for the latter later in the season.
