Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill will return to Netflix for a sequel to Enola Holmes.
The franchise puts a dynamic female twist on the world’s greatest detective and his brilliant family. Based on Nancy Springer’s six-book series, it tells the story of Sherlock Holmes’ rebellious teen sister Enola, a gifted super-sleuth in her own right who often outsmarts her famous siblings.
Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown starred in the first film, which debuted on Netflix last September, with Henry Cavill as Sherlock. (Read our review here.) An estimated 76m households chose Enola Holmes in its first 28 days on Netflix.
Now, a sequel has officially been confirmed, produced by Legendary in partnership with Netflix after Netflix acquired the worldwide rights, ex-China, to the first film from Legendary last year.
Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Aeronauts) who penned the first film will return to write the sequel, with both Millie Bobby Brown and Henry Cavill reprising their roles. Harry Bradbeer (Fleabag, Killing Eve), who helmed the first movie, will also return to direct.
Producers include Legendary’s Mary Parent, Alex Garcia and Ali Mendes, plus Millie Bobby Brown and Paige Brown through their PCMA Productions shingle. Executive Producers include Legendary’s Joshua Grode and Michael Dreyer, as well as Bradbeer and Thorne.
