Trailer: Netflix’s Evil Genius relives America’s most diabolical bank heist

Netflix is reliving America’s most diabolical bank heist with its latest original documentary.
Written and directed by Barbara Schroeder, Evil Genius is exec-produced by Mark and Jay Duplass, the filmmaking brothers who also brought us the jaw-dropping Netflix docuseries Wild Wild Country. This new four-parter promises to be just as gripping, as it explores the truth behind an extraordinary criminal case, known as the “pizza bomber heist”.
In 2003, in Erie, Pennsylvania, a robbery went wrong and a terrifying public murder captured the nation’s attention, and a bizarre collection of Midwestern hoarders, outcasts, and lawbreakers played cat-and-mouse with the FBI. Eventually, a middle-aged mastermind named Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong — once a town beauty — was arrested. But 15 years later, Evil Genius proves there’s more to the conspiracy and murders than first suspected.
Evil Genius hits Netflix on Friday 11th May. Here’s the trailer:
