Drama has joined the line-up of catch-up shows available on UKTV Player.
The free-to-air channel Drama will be available on the VOD service from this week, providing viewers with access to a mixture of popular and classic programming, such as Agatha Christie, The Forsyte Saga and Death Comes to Pemberley, along with genre favourites, such as The Bill and Birds of a Feather.
Drama joins UKTV’s other popular free-to-air channels Dave, Yesterday and Really on UKTV Play, which is available on iOS, Android, PC and YouView. Content on the service is compiled in collections of topics and events, as well as featuring dynamic ‘celebrity picks’ and advance sneak previews of new programmes.
Dan Fahy, UKTV’s Director, Commercial and Business Development, says: “UKTV Play is proving popular with viewers and we want to give them even more access to UKTV’s great programming, when and where they want. The addition of Drama’s well known and loved programming reinforces UKTV Play’s position as a must-have on demand service for our audience, especially as we continue to launch UKTV Play on to more platforms.”
UKTV’s new digital brand launched in August 2014 and has enjoyed continued growth, with February marking UKTV Play’s most successful month on PC VOD, up 41 per cent on January’s figures.
At launch, a raft of Drama’s most popular programmes will be available to stream, including Lovejoy, Rumpole of the Bailey, In Deep, Touching Evil, Pie in the Sky, The Mayor of Casterbridge, The Road to Coronation Street, Jack the Ripper and Catherine Cookson.
UKTV Play is available on iOS and Android devices, PC and Mac. UKTV Play on Virgin On Demand offers catch up for all of UKTV’s 10 channels.
