Curzon Home Cinema to live-stream 2018 European Film Awards
David Farnor | On 08, Dec 2018
The European Film Awards are returning to Curzon Home Cinema this Christmas, with the ceremony available to live-stream.
Last year, Curzon beamed the event from Berlin live into UK and Irish living rooms via its streaming service. This year, Curzon hops to Seville, Spain, where the 31st EFAs will take place. The awards, presented jointly by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions, honour the greatest achievements in European cinema.
The ceremony will be available to watch exclusively on Curzon Home Cinema at 6.30pm, with the red carpet arrivals also available to watch live from 4.30pm. Amazon Studios’ Cold War, currently available on Curzon Home Cinema, leads the pack with five nominations, including Best Actor and Actress, Screenwriter, Film and Director for Pawel Pawlikowski.
Other nominees include Dogman (also on Curzno Home Cinema), Happy as Lazzaro (snapped up by Netflix in the USA), MUBI’s Touch Me Not and Netflix’s White Fang. Already announced is the European Film Academy Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be given to Carmen Maura, who has won the EFA award for Best Actress twice, including for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown at the very first EFAs in 1988.
