Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini and James Marsden will be teaming up tonight for a live table read of Dead to Me.
The darkly funny series follows a powerful friendship that blossoms between Jen, a tightly wound widow, and Judy, a free spirit with a shocking secret.
“The result bristles with ideas, plays with tones and races through plot points with an irresistible relentlessness; the script, like so many page-turners in this streaming age, is paced precisely to encourage binge-watching, with cliffhangers dangling over each end credits sequence,” we wrote in our review.
Season 2 premieres this weekend, as Jen and Judy struggle to keep their secrets buried in the aftermath of Season 1. With a surprising new visitor in town and Detective Perez (Diana Maria Riva) hot on their heels, Jen and Judy take drastic measures to protect their loved ones and each other – no matter the cost.
To mark the debut of Season 2, Applegate, Cardellini and Marsden will reunite for a live table read of the show’s very first episode, alongside creator Liz Feldman. The live reading, which will, of course, take place online, will be followed by a virtual Q&A with viewers.
The table read will be raising money for World Central Kitchen, which provides meals for families impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. It will take place on Netflix’s Facebook page at 5pm PT, which works out as 1am UK time.
