“How’d you get your start?” “What start?” That’s the sound of Marilyn Monroe coming to our screens once again in Andrew Dominik’s biopic of the Hollywood icon.
Played by Ana de Armas and based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde promises to explore a life known and unknown as it delves into Marilyn’s complicated life, from her volatile childhood as Norma Jeane,through her rise to stardom and romantic entanglements. The film blurs the lines of fact and fiction to explore the widening split between Marilyn’s public and private selves.
Co-starring Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel and Julianne Nicholson, the film premieres on Netflix on 28th September. Here’s the trailer:

Ana de Armas is Marilyn Monroe in Blonde, Netflix’s new biopic about the screen icon.
From director Andrew Dominik, and based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde reimagines the complicated life of Marilyn, blurring the lines of fact and fiction to explore the tension between her public and private life.
The film premieres on Netflix on 23rd September. Here’s the teaser:
Blonde: Adrien Brody and Ana de Armas star in Andrew Dominik’s Marilyn movie

Adrien Brody (The Pianist, The Grand Budapest Hotel) has joined Ana de Armas in Blonde, Andrew Dominik’s new Marilyn Monroe movie.
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford helmer has also written the film, which is based on the novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. It tells the reimagined private story of the world’s most famous sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe. The film is a fictional portrait of the model, actress and singer during the 50s and 60s, told through the modern lens of celebrity culture.
Alongside Ana de Armas (Blade Runner, Knives Out) and Brody are Bobby Cannavale (Jumanji, The Irishman), Julianne Nicholson (Monos, I, Tonya), Lily Fisher (General Hospital), Evan Williams (Versailles, Awkward), Xavier Samuel (Love & Friendship, Adore), Caspar Phillipson (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Jackie), Toby Huss (Dickinson, Halloween), Sara Paxton (Good Girls, The Front Runner) and David Warshofksy (Lincoln, There Will be Blood).
Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner are producing for Plan B, alongside Tracey Landon and Scott Robertson.
Production is currently underway in Los Angeles.
