Chad Stahelski and Leigh Dana Jackson are teaming up for Netflix thriller Black Samurai.
The film will be based on the novels of the same name. Written by Marc Olden, the series of books follow Robert Sand, an American soldier in Japan who learns the ways of the most powerful martial arts, and becomes the Black Samurai, embarking on a mission to stop dangerous forces who threaten everything he holds dear.
The project comes with some serious action kudos, thanks to the addition of Chad Stahelski at the helm. Stahelski is best known as the director of the John Wick franchise and is currently in post-production on John Wick 4.
Screenwriter Jackson is no stranger to Netflix, having written on superhero drama Raising Dion, but most recently has served as a writer and exec-producer on Apple TV+ sci-fi series Foundation.
Stahelksi will produce, alongside Jason Spitz and Alex Young for 87Eleven Entertainment, plus John Schoenfelder and Russell Ackerman for Addictive Pictures. Exec-producers include Diane Crafford, Liza Fleissig and Andre Gaines for Cinemation Studios.
