“We’ve been watching you. You’re doing something to humans…” That’s the sound of Gangs of London writer Lauren Sequeira stepping up to lead her own series, Domino Day, on BBC Three.
The modern-day witchcraft drama, created and written by the BAFTA nominee, follows a young witch with extraordinary powers who is desperately seeking a community to help her understand who she is. But she doesn’t need to look far, as a coven of witches is already tracking her every move.
Developed and produced by Fremantle’s Dancing Ledge Productions (The Responder, The Salisbury Poisonings), the Manchester-set series stars the BAFTA-nominated Siena Kelly (Adult Material, Hit & Run) as Domino Day, a young woman on all the dating apps. But Domino isn’t swiping to find her soulmate – she’s swiping to hunt.
With the coven convinced they have to stop her before her powers destroy everyone and everything around her, and a dangerous figure from Domino’s past coming back to haunt her, will it be a fresh start for them all, or a final showdown?
Siena Kelly is joined on screen by Babirye Bukilwa (We Hunt Together, Neighbors), Poppy Lee Friar (In My Skin, Life And Death In The Warehouse), Alisha Bailey (Call the Midwife, Strike) and Molly Harris (Industry, Monsoon) as the coven. Sam Howard-Sneyd (Clarity and Chaos, The Children), Percelle Ascott (The Innocents, I Came By), Lucy Cohu (COBRA, Dangerous Liaisons), Christopher Jeffers (Rocketman, Coronation Street), Jonah Rzeskiewicz (Death on the Nile, The Dig) and Maimuna Memon (Sherwood, Lazarus) also star.
The six-part drama is directed by Eva Sigurdardottir and Nadira Amrani, with Nick Pitt as series producer and Megan Ott as producer. It will premiere on BBC Three at 9pm on Wednesday 31st January, with all episodes on BBC iPlayer from 6am on the same day.
