BBC Three will go Inside Watford FC this winter, with a new Premier League football documentary.
The four-part series aims to show what life is really like behind the scenes of a Premier League football club. Filmed throughout November and December 2016, Behind The Scenes At Watford FC is made by Gary Lineker’s Goalhanger Films and promises to capture the drama and humour, both on and off the pitch, of the side’s journey alongside Britain’s footballing elite. Narrated by the former England striker and Match of the Day presenter, and directed by Paddington and The Mighty Boosh’s Paul King, the series will delve into the day-to-day lives of the players, coaches and executives, exploring the heart of their club.
Promoted to the Premier League this season, the club has more than held its own against the sport’s top contenders, currently sitting in an impressive eight place in the Premier League, one point behind Everton and Man United.
Damian Kavanagh, Controller of BBC Three, says: “The series will bring a candid insight into what really goes on behind the scenes at football’s highest level and give BBC Three fans an access all-areas pass to a Premier League club.”
Tony Pastor, Executive Producer of Goalhanger Films, adds: “We’ve been given unprecedented access to the inner sanctum of the football club. Already we’ve been able to film in areas normally way off limits. I think it’ll give football fans a real insight into the workings of a Premier League club.”
Episode 1 will be released on BBC Three on Thursday 1st December, with the following three episodes available every Thursday.
