Apple TV+ renews Bad Sisters for Season 2
8th November 2022
Bad Sisters will return to Apple TV+ for a second season.
A remake of Belgian series Clan, the 10-episode darkly comic thriller follows the lives of the Garvey sisters, who are bound together by the premature death of their parents and a promise to always protect one another. Starring Anne-Marie Duff (Suffragette, The Salisbury Poisonings), Eva Birthistle (Brooklyn, The Last Kingdom), Sarah Greene (Frank of Ireland, Dublin Murders) and Eve Hewson (Behind her Eyes, The Luminaries), the cast includes Claes Bang (Dracula, The Northman) and Brian Gleeson (Frank of Ireland, Peaky Blinders).
“Family loyalty leads to grave consequences in this darkly entertaining thriller,” we wrote in our review of Season 1, which debuted this summer.
Now, only a few weeks after its finale, Apple has confirmed that the show has been renewed for Season 2.
“If you’d have told me three years ago that I’d be making a series about five murderous sisters chasing a man around Ireland trying to kill him I’d have said, ‘Yeah, that sounds about right,’” said Horgan, who also exec-produces the show. “The response to our show has been beyond what we could have hoped for. It gave us the opportunity to shine a light on stories that don’t always get such a global platform. I look forward to getting chilly in the Irish Sea one more time.”
The series is written by Horgan with Brett Baer and Dave Finkel, and Dearbhla Walsh, Josephine Bornebusch and Rebecca Gatward serve as directors.
