It’s now only a couple of months until Arcane returns to our screens, and a new trailer give us a first look at Season 2.
Based on the League of Legends game, the series is set in the utopian region of Piltover and the oppressed underground of Zaun, the story follows the origins of two iconic League champions in a city on the brink of war – and the power that will tear them apart.
Those champions are Jinx (Ella Purnell) — also known as Powder — and Vi (Hailee Steinfeld), two sisters who find themselves on rival sides. As they become transformed by the conflict, with Powder becoming the mischievous Jinx, the show finds them veering down different paths.
“Complex characters, exciting action and stunning visuals make this video game adaptation one of 2021’s most surprising shows,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
Season 2 picks up as Jinx’s attack on the Council set the stage for a dire escalation of the conflict between Piltover and Zaun.
Co-creator Christian Linke has confirmed that Season 2 will be the final chapter of Arcane, although more stories will be on the way from the franchise’s wider universe.
“Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra,” he revealed.
There’s no release date just yet for Season 2, but here’s the new video:
