David E Kelley, SJ Clarkson and Melissa James Gibson are teaming up for Anatomy of a Scandal, a new anthology series for Netflix.
The series is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Sarah Vaughan. The book, published in 2018, centred on a high-profile marriage that begins to unravel when the husband is accused of a terrible crime. The series will also explore a sexual consent scandal amongst British privileged elite and the women caught up in its wake, but will build on that to explore a different scandal in each episode.
Netflix has ordered six episodes in total and has one heck of a team to make them happen. Prolific TV veteran David E Kelley (Big Little Lies, Goliath) will exec-produce and serve as showrunner alongside Melissa James Gibson (House of Cards, The Americans). SK Clarkson (Jessica Jones, The Defenders), meanwhile, is on board to direct and exec-produce all six episodes.
Also on board as EPs are Liza Chasin (The Loudest Voice, Baby Driver) of 3Dot Productions, Bruna Papandrea (Gone Girl, Big Little Lies), Steve Hutensky and Allie Goss of Made Up Stories, plus Vaughan, and Margaret Chernin as Co-Executive Producer.
The project will be produced in the UK.
