Amazon is once again seeing in the new year – and seeing out the old year – with a comedy special, Yearly Departed.

The special, hosted by Yvonne Orji (Insecure), will feature a star-studded, all-female line-up to deliver eulogies to their least favourite parts of 2021, including two-time Academy Award-winning actor Jane Fonda (Grace and Frankie), Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Meg Stalter (Hacks), Dulcé Sloan (The Daily Show), Aparna Nancherla (The Great North), and X Mayo (The Daily Show), with Alessia Cara delivering a musical send-off to everything we are leaving behind this year. This year’s eulogists will bid farewell to Hot Vaxx Summer, Hermit Life, Ignoring the Climate Crisis, Zoom and more.

Yearly Departed is from Amazon Studios, Done+Dusted, and Scrap Paper Pictures. Yearly Departed is executive produced by Rachel Brosnahan, Paige Simpson, David Jammy, Katy Mullan, Samantha Ressler, Nathalie Love, and Bess Kalb, with Kalb also serving as head writer. Emmy Award-winner Linda Mendoza (Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready) returns as the director for this year’s special. The inaugural installment of the special was nominated for a Writers Guild Award and won a a Gracie Award.

It will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 23rd December.
